The latest generation of the X1 Utility Launcher has been submitted to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for classification review.
This fifth sample represents years of engineering, testing and redesign as we've continued developing the X1 into the product we originally envisioned.
The X1 isn't available for purchase yet—but we're getting ready for what comes next.

Developed from the X Products Can Cannon platform, the X1 is a purpose-built, break-action utility launcher designed to operate using 5.56mm M200 blank ammunition.
The X1 transforms the Can Cannon concept into a standalone, modular utility-launcher platform capable of supporting a wide range of compatible accessories and applications.
Its universal design works with compatible X Products Can Cannon components and accessories, while its stock interface accepts compatible Remington 870-pattern stocks, providing a broad range of configuration options.

5.56mm M200 Blanks
At the heart of the X1 is a proprietary operating system designed to make the launcher remarkably simple to use.
The trigger performs two functions: firing the launcher and opening the action.
After firing, push the trigger forward and the break action opens, ejecting the spent blank casing and exposing the chamber.
Insert a fresh 5.56mm M200 blank, close the action, load a compatible projectile from the muzzle end, and the X1 is ready for its next use.
FIRE → OPEN → EJECT → RELOAD → CLOSE → LAUNCH
The X1 has been engineered from the ground up as a blank-fired utility launcher.
The latest generation incorporates purpose-built and tamper-resistant design features intended to maintain the X1's configuration as a dedicated blank-fired platform and resist alteration or conversion for use as a conventional firearm.
These design elements represent years of development and multiple generations of X1 engineering.
Final ATF classification of the current design remains pending.
Some of our customers have been following the X1 since we first introduced the concept.
Since 2020, we've continued engineering, testing, revising and resubmitting the platform. Each generation has moved us closer to the X1 we set out to build.
Sample 5 is now in ATF review.
While we wait for that determination, we're preparing for the next chapter of the X1.
